With your own domain name your address becomes permanent AND portable no matter what Internet Service Provider (ISP) you use. Your company also establishes an identity on Internet that is not tied to a particular ISP.

Domain names come in two general types. Each type is functionally the same and are only different in their appearance and cost. The first type, and most common domain name ends in a .com and carry no specific qualifications that you must meet. However, registering a name which clearly should not be registered to you may cause problems. The domain names ending in .org or .net also fall into this first category. The second type of domain name end in .ca.

.ca Domains  

• All Domain Names ending in .ca are $50 per year (done throught IGS KW) and are now open to all Canadians with few restrictions.
• To register your own domain name, ending in .ca for just $29.95 per year, click here for the on-line secure application site.
  Please note that IGS KW does NOT administer your domain if the above is used (Cybersurf/IGS in Ottawa), we charge $50 per year if you want us to administer your domain payments.

.com, .org, and .net Domains

• All Domain Names ending in .com, .org, or .net are $30 per year and are free for the first year when purchasing 1 year virtual web hosting with IGS KW at the time of registration.
• An annual maintenance cost $60 per year applies to domains registered prior to September 1, 2000 unless you co-ordinate the required changes with IGS KW to lower your yearly cost.
• Additional years may be purchased at the time of initial registration to a maximum of 10 total years.
• The maximum length of your domain (including the .com, .org, or .net is 63 characters, may contain letters, numbers and the dash ('-') character providing it is not the first or last character.
